Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager - Ports to join our team! In this role we need our Design Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will provide oversight on a series of contracts and support the PMC delivery from a design perspective within the realm of the company’s policies and procedures.
What You'll Be Doing:
Ensure timely delivery of all port and logistics design services.
- Ensure required technical standards are being met.
- Ensure compliance of the design with the functional requirements, employer’s requirements, and internal asset brief.
- Ensure compliance of the design process with the relevant Client procedures and governance requirements.
- Consider interfaces, liaison and co-ordination between design packages and service orders across the Oxagon program (for potential support to the Interface Management team).
- Provide technical support to the contracts and procurement processes.
- Provide accurate information to support reporting of the design progress.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture with extensive experience in overseeing the design process for varying types of developments.
Experience in leading the process on commercial ports and marine projects is beneficial.
15+ years of related work experience, including management experience.
Significant oversight experience of resources and technical personnel to facilitate design delivery.
Liaison with Client and interface with stakeholders
Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required
Proven ability for overseeing the design process undertaken by a third party, and coordinating work involving complex technical situations
Proven management capability, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing the engineering design process.
